Captain America and The Mighty Avengers #3 Review

Writer: Al Ewing
Artists: Luke Ross & Iban Coello

We are front and center at the fight everybody (not the folks that read Axis tho) wanted to see, Mighty Avengers vs Inverted Avengers. This fight isn’t really anything spectacular, we just see it serve canon that the Mighty Avengers ain’t nothing to fuck with. Iron Man picks and chooses taking out the strongest to the weakest. We see Power Man 2.0 up against Thor, Kaluu getting back into the fold as he fends off Scarlet Witch, Iron Man sending Blue Marvel away via an over seas Ultimo disaster and then taking down Spectrum, etc. The tide turns when Peter Parker swings in to help out the Mighty Avengers. Spectrum takes down Iron Man, Blue Marvel comes back on the scene and Iron Man is forced to feign being mind controlled by a z-list villain in order for his team to get out and retreat.

I really hope this Axis angle gets cleared away soon because I want to go back to the direction that Ewing had in his previous volume of Mighty Avengers. We got a murder mystery / new villain on our hands early in this issue that is going to delve into White Tiger’s story and character development. This has me really eager to get away from all things poison– I mean Axis– I mean the major Marvel cross over that did nothing for me (yeah that sounds right) and back on that Ewing dope game writing that hooked me in the first place.

The best part of this issue aside form the site was Spectrum throwing her leader weight around and letting Spider-Man know, “Fuck the the frail shit, You squad now”.
