Move Over Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – The Inhumans Got Next

When it comes to comics, I keep it 100. I don’t know shit. I don’t. Can’t front. Can’t stunt. I leave that Picasso on panels realm to Omar, Will, Keith, Jordan, Carrie, Leslie, and the BNP Comic OGs. But one thing I be reverse windmill dunkin on is that fucking silver screen B. I will dissect the shit out of your favorite TV shows season finale, shit all over your favorite hero’s catchphrase, and praise the sheer magnitude of a new show that’s givin jaw dropping visuals (Looks at Legion).

Which brings me to Inhumans, one of Marvel’s more popular (but fairly unknown to the average superhero movie fan) titles about a race of superhuman heroes. There has been a lot of speculation and info going round the rumor mill regarding this title the past couple of years. First they were expected to be part of Marvel’s phase 3 movie set. Then they were dropped. Then picked up. Then Netflix? Now… Now we finally have some Ben Grimm solid information to go on. Inhumans is going to be a featured ABC show dropping in the Fall.

IMAX ALERT!!

But what is this?!?? Could it be true? It seems Inhumans will be blessing fans with the Game of Thrones treatment and debuting the first two episodes in IMAX theaters starting Labor Day weekend. They’ll be tapping Roel Reine to direct the two big screen eps, before the season starts September 26 on the network.

This is huge fam. When the last time you heard it like this? Never. For real, a show has ever gone ALL IN on a show and said, “This shit so fire, the first 2 eps gon be a cinematic experience. Fuck it. IMAX DAT SHIT!”

The cast is coming along nicely too. Inhumans most recently cast Anson Mount, star of AMC’s Hell on Wheels, as Black Bolt, king of the Inhumans. Blackagar Boltagon is the leader of the Royal Family and the entire Inhuman people. He don’t say shit (his voice can level a mountain or decimate a city) he just expresses himself and talks without speaking, so this should be a grueling and potentially rewarding role for Anson, ya know, if he doesn’t fuck it up.

The other star to recently hop on board is Game of Thrones alum Iwan Rheon, who will be playing Maximus the Mad, Black Bolt’s brother. Yeahhhh skin flaying, hound hunting, piece of shit basterd of the year, Ramsay Bolton. I hate him too, but the boy can act his ass off (and apparently the ladies like the looks of him) so I guess win-win. The most recent casting news has Smallville alum Serinda Swan joining the growing cast of IMAX/ABC’s /Marvel’s Inhumans, as Black Bolt’s wife Medusa (and her prehensile hair), who does a lot of the talking for the leader. Along with Rheon and Swan, Ken Leung (of Lost and Rush Hour fame) is now set to play the important role of Karnak, Black Bolt’s cousin and closest adviser. His ability to see the fault in our stars any situation, plan, or person makes him one of the dopest confidants I done ever heard of.

Time to get familiar homies, because this is shaping up to be the new wave and Marvel’s very dope on-screen version of the X-Men.
