STUFF.

I like stuff.

And things.

I have a storage locker full o’ comic books and Lord of the Rings memorabilia. I have artist proof Sideshow/WETA polystone and autographed set pieces. I have Minimates and custom Munny and framed collages and graphic tee shirts and…well you get it.

I’m a perpetual collector (and creator) of things that make me happy.

After some careful budgeting a few months ago, I decided to splurge on a Loot Crate Subscription. Tailor-made for geeks and gamers, it’s one of the few monthly subscription boxes that I didn’t have too think too hard about. Each box has at least $40 worth of goodness inside (although all subscribers are entered into a drawing for a Mega Crate, valued at over $750), and every month has a different theme. Past crates have included Heroes (this month’s video review), Villains (which included one of my fave graphic tees of the year), Transform (Transformers based. Duh.), Adventure (yet another kick ass shirt, plus lots of Adventure Time swag), Dragons (GoT), and Titans (Attack on Titanfall). There are two constants: a pin/button with the month and theme of the crate it came in, and a booklet full of info about your haul, articles, quizzes, and mini games.

Overall, I have yet to regret my subscription. Even the things I’m largely “Meh” on have value as items to regift to other hoarders nerds in my life. I’ll be posting unboxing vids here for the next few months, so if you’re on the fence, check back in with me as I spazz out over my own crates. There may even be some giveaways in it for you. Oh, and if you’re ready to take the plunge, use the code “GALACTIC” and save 10% off of your first box. They’re promising three licensed exclusive collectibles (one is a Funko Mystery Mini!) and items from Firefly, Star Wars, & Star Trek, and more. Sounds like a good time to be about that life, yo. Think it over.
