The First Trailer For Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory Surfaces

Just keep swimming guys, we’re almost there!

Thirteen years after Pixar delivered one of their biggest hits ever with Finding Nemo, the animation studio dives back into familiar waters with a direct sequel centered on the most beloved character from the original film. Ellen DeGeneres excitedly revealed the film’s first trailer that will coincide with Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur that releases later this month. In it fans can catch an early glimpse at Pixar’s 2016 offering which catches up with some of the characters from the first film such as Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks) and Nemo (voiced this go around by Hayden Rolence). The trailer shows Dory living near her clownfish pals in a coral reef when Dory is suddenly struck by a rare memory of her family and starts swimming away in her sleep.

Director Andrew Stanton has stated that the film’s plot will follow the amnesiac Dory as she leads Marlin and Nemo “to a whole new part of the world, meeting a whole new cast of characters to try to figure out who her parents are and where they are.” DeGeneres never ceases to express excitement over the project saying “It’s fantastic, it’s hilarious, it’s warm, it’s everything that you want it to be!”. Hmm, sounds good enough for me! The movie will also feature the voice talents of Willem Dafoe, Ed O’Neill, Diane Keaton and Idris Elba, among others. Finding Dory hits theaters on June 17th, 2016.
