[dropcap1]L[/dropcap1]isten to me folks, we live in a world where Ben Affleck is Batman, Channing Tatum is Gambit, and Jared Leto is The Joker. This has got to be proof you can be anything you want to be folks. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! THERE ARE NO RULES ANYMORE! So when the Ant-Man movie was announced? I had the “fuck we need Ant-Man movie for (unless it’s centered around Eric O’Grady?)” face on deck. Then they said Paul Rudd is Ant-Man?!?!?!
Laaaaaaaawd! I got love for Paul Rudd, don’t get me wrong. I’m just saying, Ant-Man sounded like a movie that’s going straight to dvd tho don’t it? Like SyFy channel burst into Marvel offices shouting, “We got this shit yo”. Then I remembered I was talking that same shit when Guardians of the Galaxy was announced and that turned out to be gawdly. I then proceeded to shut the fuck up and tuned into Agent Carter aka BaegentCarter for the trailer.
Yo… I can fux with this. Again, I would rather Eric O’Grady but Scott Lang is great too (read Matt Fraction’s run on Future Foundation for more insight). It’s cool that Michael Douglass is going to be Hank Pym in this as well. What I really like about the way this comes across is that Lang isn’t living a lavish ass life. He is an everyman right off the bat. He had to do some low level crime just trying to help his kid out and paid the price for that, it doesn’t make him a bad person.
