In case you missed it Tiffie runs down the creation of Black Fae Day by Jupiter Jazz and Aiysha Sinclair. Black Fae Day saw Black creators dressed up as a wide array of melanated faeries. Tiffie discusses the importance of Black folks getting to see themselves in this sci-fi genre. Black Fae Day got so big that it became dubbed Black Fae May, extending the day for the entire month. It doesn’t stop there, the creators of Black Fae Day have created the Sankofa Soulstice taking place September 25th, 2021.
People can create their fantasy creatures and then join a faerie court/house. (Think Pose with wings). Each house will set its own themes and operations. Some houses may be completely virtual or others may meet up for picnics. As yall can see, Black Fae is a movement that is still moving.
