Cardcaptor Sakura is Returning in June!

“CARDCAPTORS! A MYSTIC ADVENTURE! CARDCAPTORS! A QUEST FOR ALL TIME!” That English dub opening was the jam, and about a month ago Kodansha’s Nakayoshi(a shoujo manga magazine) announced that CLAMP, an all-female Japanese manga artist group, is going to publish a new Cardcaptor Sakura manga. At first it seemed like it would only be a one-shot, but it has been confirmed in the April issue of Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine that it will be a full ongoing series set after the original! The manga will follow Sakura in her first year of junior high school where some shit immediately starts to go down. The original manga’s run lasted from May 1996 all the way to June 2000. That’s right, this year is actually the 20th anniversary of Cardcaptor Sakura! Can you believe it’s been 20 whole years since she first graced the manga pages with her cute ferocity? We’re getting so old. There was a project for the 20th anniversary that was teased earlier this year but the real surprise is that it’s an ongoing series and everyone is hyped up about it.
