Nova #6 Review

Writer: Jeff Loveness, Ramon Perez / Artist: Ramon Perez / Marvel Comics Richard Rider was in the Cancerverse and died to protect Peter Quill. Richard Rider died a hero. Richard Rider died buried a G but he’s back here six years later (in real time) alive and fighting this monstrous part of the Cancerverse that got brought back with him. …So what is the truth Richard Rider? What really happened? We get our answers in this week’s Nova. Loveness and Perez really show us that stress and burdens of the Cancerverse that Rider was going through. Rider sacrificed himself so that Peter Quill could make it back to our dimension but that sacrifice meant a grueling death in a world where time has no meaning. Life is endless in the Cancerverse, which means our Original Nova and Dem been living his worst life on a planet that makes The Walking Dead look like a spa day.

The story only gets worse for Rider when you come to find out how the Worldmind was used in his escape and why Worldmind has a legit beef with Rider that’s pretty justified. I’m enjoying this trip back to the Cancerverse especially with Perez’s visuals, the depiction of the hellish nature of this dimension and how anyone would struggle and give up certain morals in order to escape. Perez did an incredible job visualizing the hell that Richard Rider went through and now we’re going to see the hell Sam Alexander is going to endure in order to bring his big homie back home. 8.0 lies on lies on lies out of 10Reading Nova?…
