This comic is a great display of an emotional battle that comes with facing the troubles within yourself and how that translates with your relationships towards other people. It’s no doubt that Harley loves Red. She was willing to drop everything for her so I could imagine how heartbreaking it must be to see a reflection of your best friend calling you out and distort your intentions. The most striking thing to me about Alienated, the latest sci-fi series from Boom! Studios, is its incredible structure: the pacing of parallel narratives and dialogs, the use of principle colors, the layered construction of each page, the very cadence of the story itself. For me, it’s about the small moments that happened throughout this bout. Thor ridding himself of the power cosmic to show Beta Ray that he’s not being controlled by Galactus; so powerful, Bill catching the hammer before it smashes his face to smithereens; eye opening, and Thor’s warning that resulted in a broken Beta Ray in more ways than one; sobering.
