Wonder Woman #18 Review

[quote_simple]”We were all someone else yesterday.”- Siohban Kelly [Banshee][/quote_simple] I feel like you could open up this book with the Johnny Cash “Hurt” cover as we see Veronica salvaging the digital essence of Adrianna. Adrianna appears in pain and is brought up to speed by Veronica on just how long it’s been, how she is no longer alive, as well as what she is now. It’s an opening scene but a really powerful one as we visibly see the damage from the mishap that caused Adriana to become part of the Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad Matrix. Art wise just, looking at the page, the “What have I become?” verse from “Hurt” is all I can hear as I stare at that scene and Veronica telling Adrianna her help is needed yet again. We see the condition that Veronica daughter is still in after over a year (becoming the less cool version of Game of Thrones’ faceless men) we now know the motivation behind Veronica actions in the present day.

On the other side of the coin, we see Minerva off before the excursion that brings about her transformation into the Cheetah. We were expecting this to come about and there are a bunch of connection that take place for us seeing just what happened, that had Minerva feeling betrayed by Wonder Woman. We know what happens in that Minerva gets transformed, however, we don’t get much visually of that which left me wanting. That may just be me though, Evely continues to do a great job in…
