It’s on and popping once again with the denizens of Cybertron with the release of the trailer for the next chapter in the War for Cybertron Trilogy- Earthrise. The creative team at Rooster Teeth are really plumbing the depths of the lore to give even more texture to this series. Warning: this trailer is designed for maximum hype for G1 (generation one, aka OG) Transformers fans and newcomers alike. Here is a rundown of the trailer and, as per usual, a rundown of the Easter eggs placed all through it.

War for Cybertron: Earthrise keeps the same dark and gritty texture that made Oliver Stone a household name in the 90s. Everybody still looks beat up as all hell. After the events of Siege, Megatron realizes he and the Decepticons are trapped on a dying Cybertron when Optimus and most of his crew dipped on the Ark. Megatron is trying to keep his regime afloat while trying to avoid Elita-1 and her John Wick-type death wish to take him out. Speaking of Elita-1, she’s seen being stalked by Shockwave rocking optic camouflage, and it’s quite creepy. Cut to: some huge figure piercing the clouds and a dogfight decisively won by the former Decepticon, Jetfire (aka Skyfire).
