Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man #2 Review

Writer: Brian Michael Bendis / Artist: David Marquez

“Sooooooooooooo something not so chill happened last issue”… Yeah, well it looks like Ultimate Peter Parker is back. I always have full faith in Bendis but I’m not going to lie, seeing Parker again feels so wrong. The kid had one of the top 5 best deaths of all time. Let that boy rest. Norman Osborn is back in action as well and wastes no time getting his Goblin up back at Oscorp.

The issue mostly deals with Miles trying to figure out if this returned Peter is actually the real deal. This leads to questions upon questions which “Peter” doesn’t feel like answering at the moment (he is kind of a dick about it). Now Miles has to deal with who to tell about this, is this “Peter” a clone and then there is also a big decision that involves Ultimate Kate Bishop. Marquez art is great with the facial expression heavy issue. The body language is truly “what the hell is going on?” for the entire issue.

We’re right there with you Miles. It’s going to be interesting to see what Bendis does with this story arc. Again, I’d rather keep Peter Parker in the ground. Especially since it was a rule that if you die in the Ultimate Universe you there are no continues for you. It is probably safe to say we are dealing with a clone, which makes me hope this isn’t another visit back to the clone saga.

Time will tell tho.
