Nova #23 Review

Writer: Gerry Duggan
Artist: David Baldeon

Maaaaaaan, Sam Alexander can not catch a break. He got that call in from Steve Rogers, informed that some of the Avengers and X-men had their personalities inverted (they acting like jerk-faces now), AAAAND the Hulk’s Hulk (Kluh) is running amok toward Arizona. Sam books it to get his family out of dodge and then to face down the Kluh. Ya boy is outmatched something bad tho. I gotta give him credit for going in and landing that one lucky shot in. Sam Alexander ain’t no fucking punk.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT… not being a punk don’t mean your ass won’t get rocked. Sam. Gets. Fucking. ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCKED. He caught the TJ Combo one hitter quitter from Killer Instinct to the dome. Duggan has put forth a great story plus keeping in mind, this is only part one. Sam may be out of commission and have to rely on his wits once we come to the end of the issue. Baldeon’s art is enjoyable to me as well, he draws Sam true to his young age. I really like this depiction of Sam. He is a cute kid in a bucket helmet in one scene but then we see that cute kid go to, “I’ma fuck some shit up with my bucket helmet” hero. I’m really eager to see how round two goes for Sam up against Kluh.
