Saga #23 Review

Writer ~Brian K V Artist~Fiona Staples   It’s that time again, folks where the jar on the can of “feeeeeels” is opened up I have to take a few days to get right. Yes, Saga is back and it’s brutal. Last issue where we treated to as narrator Hazel tells us, “the story of how my parents’ split up”.  Marko and Alana have at it verbally and it escalates to Alana demanding him to leave.

If this were a chess set, all the important pieces are flying into place strategically and sh*t is about to get real cause the fan is broke. BROKE. Prince Robot IV, who is in his right state of mind finally has left home on a mission to find his son and hunt down the bastard who kidnapped him and killed his wife. As it would have it, he followed the trail of the kidnapper and it brought him to the VERY planet our misfit family in crisis is staying and to top it off he got received some help. PAUSE. HOLD THE PHONE. Did, I mention that the tagline for the issue was “Betrayal”? No? I didn’t ? WELP. Here we are: Yuma, former ex wife of Heist, scenery expert for Open Circuit and JUDAS has handed over the location of Hazel, Marko and Alana in an attempt to save her own skin which has created a domino effect that night…The freaks come out at night and so does every one else. All the monsters that we’ve been warned about, all the ones that we think are in our closets and under our beds are out.
