Now What Do We Have Here?
Summer Netflix binging season is around the corner. I, for one, am looking forward to holing up in my bedroom with the air conditioner on full blast and a few Netflix originals to enjoy.
Here are some of the new movies, TV shows, and comedy specials we’re looking forward to this month.
Marvel’s Luke Cage: Season 2- NETFLIX ORIGINAL, June 22
What more can I say that hasn’t already been said about one of my favorite Netflix Originals and Marvel series’ on television? We get Misty with her metal hand, we get Luke and his super abs, and hopefully more incredibly interesting villains and black community drama. If you haven’t already, check out the trailer here.
Sense8: The Series Finale- NETFLIX ORIGINAL, June 8
I love this show so much! The diversity of the cast, the LGBT representation, the premise and the amazing locations bring a richness to the screen that not too many small screen endeavors possess. Everything about Sense8 is a treat and I am so glad that the Wachowskis decided to finish out the story with a two-hour finale with everybody’s favorite cluster.
W. Kamau Bell: Private School Negro-NETFLIX ORIGINAL, June 26
W. Kamau Bell has a new stand-up special coming out that I cannot wait to watch. Whether it is on CNN or on the comedy stage, he isn’t afraid to talk about race, politics and the tough issues permeating our society. Luckily, the man’s got a wicked sense of humor and great timing. This one is going to be fun.
