‘Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon’ Coming to Theaters this April

I’m a big fan of the Kaiju No. 8 anime series–it was one of my favorite series last spring and a hotly anticipated anime series adapted from a pretty popular manga series, as well. Centering on a man working a job far removed from his childhood dreams who gets wrapped up in an unexpected situation, it quickly became a well loved and well watched title in the anime streaming lineup of 2024. Of it I wrote:” This first episode of Kaiju No. 8 does a fine job in the simple but solid world building of this anime’s version of Japan and the Kaiju monster that attacks it constantly. I think that audiences will start to see the string of the anime series’ narrative of the value of labor, not dismissing those who support us and fully going after what your heart’s desire is…” As we reached the season finale–the fandom was blessed with awesome news! Along with hope that we’d see more of Kafka, all the Defense Force solders and the mysterious, intelligent Kaiju that has quickly become a thorn in the side of everyone, involved.
