BNP At Home Recommends: ‘Heroes in Crisis #1’

Writer: Tom King / Artist: Clay Mann / DC Comics / Release Date: September 26, 2018

I don’t know how this little treat flew under my radar since I’ve been a Tom King fanboy since his Batman began. Heroes in Crisis #1 tackles an issue often overlooked in comics and one that is especially important in these days with so many of us isolated. The people I feel for are those going through therapy. When we think about the craziness that heroes go through, it makes sense that they could use someone to talk to occasionally. Enter Sanctuary, a place of respite set up by the Trinity (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman), for costumed fighters who need help. Tom King flourishes with his uniquely abstract prose and Clay Mann art is straight beastly. Humor, violence, pie and nine-panel grid interviews. What more could you want? Enjoy and stay safe everyone.
