This month is the Spidey Original Sin cross over issue and we get to see some old and new characters appear. We start off with Parker testing out his latest gadgets to capture Electro then getting a call to aid The Avengers. We get some funny quips before the big secret bomb goes off. Spider-Man sees that the spider that bit him also bit another person. A girl named Cindy, and to add more mystery everyone’s favorite master of clandestine secrets Ezekiel knew all about Cindy and kept her locked away for reason unbeknownst to Peter.

Peter is fed up with this and decides it is time that Cindy gets that iphone jail break. The issue moves fast upon us being introduced to Cindy, that is my only complaint. We see the reason she is locked up, how her spider abilities differ from Peter’s, we see her undergo an alias, outfit change, discover that her family has moved, realize that Morlun (who she was being locked up to be protected from) is probably still alive even though Peter killed him twice, annnnnnd theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen we see her and peter let that Ginuwine “Pony” ride out in the background as their spider-senses make each other go all Scandal (Fitz and Olivia Pope) for one another.

If that felt like a lot at once then you are right. I would have liked to have seen a longer character development for Cindy (alias silk now) for her introduction to not seem so rushed. I want to like Silk but right now she feels like the x-23 version of Spider-man as well as the Mary Jane replacement.

Still… I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the long run.
