writer: David Gallaher / arists: Ande Parks, Steve Ellis / DC Comics
This is a story that centers around the man they call Guy Gardner. While Lanterns Jordan and Stewart believe they can handle matters on their own, Guy Gardner is there when the chips are down, with no ring and all attitude. This issue of Convergence felt more like Guy getting all the naysay about his abilities as a hero off his chest. This is a man proving his worth on each page and coming to the aid of his friends and rivals.
Parks and Ellis deliver the artwork of an adventure as they have to detail such large-scale heroes as outsiders in such a barren waste land. When we see our heroes suited up in the GL uniforms it is very reminiscent of yesteryear, almost as if we are seeing these characters rocking the throwback jerseys of their uniform, which plays into the whole aspect of this alternate universe.
Gallaher’s issue has to do with reminding even the most veteran GL that there is always strength in numbers. It’s going to be an interesting look into how this plays out for the rest of Convergence as the Dream Green Team is once again united.
