Loki: Agent of Asgard #10 Review

Writer: Al Ewing/ Artist: Lee Garbett / Publisher: Marvel

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan… Shit is rough for Loki this issue. He talking to his home girl Verity and coming clean about the events of what happened to him during and after the inversion. He was at one point worthy enough to wield Thor Hammer “Mjölnir” and then proceed to molly whop the former holder of the title with it. The inversion also cause Loki to hurt those closes to him (Sigurd & Lorelei) and get them incarcerated up north in Odin’s asgardian prison. We get a visit from the former Thor overhearing Loki making jokes to which we see Odinson (as former Thor is going by now) laughing.

It’s a short lived joy as Loki whose been having the guilt of murder the child Loki on his head for the longest, finally come clean. He tells how the old him concocted the plan to sabotage the child Loki so that the Loki of present day would come to fruition. This Loki of present day is remorseful as all fuck over what happened. Loki tells all to Odinson and then gets the life rocked out of him as Odinson punch him out the damn apartment. Yeah, Odinson is fucking pisssssssssssssssed!!

Ewing is giving us brothers at odds right here. As much as this issue is about Loki trying to change and truly proving so with spilling what he did. We’re seeing Odinson fucking hurting over what has transgressed man. This guy done lost the ability to wield his hammer, he done lost his arm, and now he done lost the true Loki he identified as his brother. Odinson is not fucking winning in 2015 in the least. He helped Loki out earlier way back in the beginning of the series but through Garbett’s art we see this is a guy that is fucking over Loki man. The only reason he didn’t get killed was due to the memory of the kid Loki. Thor has severed things with his brother and all of Asgard is aware of the crime present day Loki has committed. He is truly ostracized with the number of people tolerating his bullshit dwindling to nothing. Ewing has done a great job capturing this tortured soul version of Loki. The dilemma is thick as fuck in this series and is only escalating from here on out.
