If there one thing we’ve learned watching Sam Alexander be Nova is that it pays to have friends. We last saw Sam having to fight off hordes of asteroids headed toward Earth due to the Chitauri trolling him (although he did still their credits and botch up their plans on getting back his father and the other escaped gladiators [semantics]). We see a colorful cast of heroes that Sam has encountered come to his aide while he then takes the fight to the Chitaturi.

Sun, Gerry Duggan has Sam go the fucking distance in this fight. It’s like watching the space cadet version of Rey Mysterio fighting the Big Show (WWF) when it comes to the size comparison. Baldeon of course does an excellent representation of such. The background of space always look spectacular, but the way he depicts the literal direction of the flight and the do or die situation Sam finds himself having to make? That shit was top notch. Duggan has really upped the ante on what Sam finds himself having to do for the sake of protecting Earth, we also see him having to contemplate the fate of the Novas that came before him and what it truly means to be apart of the Nova corps.

I love this book man. I love this characters and I love the direction he is being taken in. This is a Nova I can fuck with. No disrespect to Richard Rider aka the best to ever force it but Sam Alexander is my fucking guy for space adventures now.
