So we’re already aware of Stephanie Williams (Nubia) teaming up with artist Letizia Cadonici (House of Slaughter) for a brand-new cosmic horror comic book series entitled Roots of Madness at Ignition Press. Now we’re gotten word about Co-creator of Revival (currently airing on SYFY) and New York Times-bestselling writer/artist Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash, Money Shot) and artist Stefano Simeone (The Last Days of Black Hammer, Radiant Black) proudly unveiled the title of their collaboration at Ignition Press series –NO Place. Rounding out the creative team for this dark fantasy adventure and sixth Ignition Press series is lettering studio AndWorld Design.
NO Place Synopsis:
Mariposa Montiel is having a very cruel homecoming. Years after vanishing from her Chicago neighborhood, the teenage outcast has returned to a traumatized family and a media circus with nothing but a tiger-striped feather and an extraordinary tale of her time away as the champion of a magical jungle land called Mayahuela. Back in reality, Mari is seen as a fraud, not a hero, and her story has made her an exile in her own life—until a secret organization with its finger on the pulse of so-called fictional worlds puts the fate of our own at her feet

And certainly, as a kid, though I loved stuff like Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal…those stories also scared the living shit out of me,” said co-creator and writer Tim Seeley.“ Strange worlds, weird creatures, bizarre rules about what you have to do to survive some other land…I wanted to show what happens to the kids who come back from a place like that, and the sense of responsibility…and paranoia, it leaves them with.”

Fans attending Comic Con International in San Diego will be the first to be able to secure a copy of NO Place: The Cold Open visiting the Ignition Press Room in the Gaslamp District (643 G Street). Additionally, Ignition Press will debut exclusive NO Place merchandise including an art print by Tim Seeley, a pair of stickers, and a pair of collectible enamel pins. As previously announced, Tim Seeley will be in attendance for scheduled signings.
