Trillium # 8 Review

Trillium #8 Review

Here we are! The 8th issue of Trillium marks the final chapter in the series, and leaves us with a bitter sweet conclusion to the story. For its final issue, the wrap up of Trillium is nothing short of fantastic and provokes many questions on the true power of black holes.

The opening of #8 starts off where 7 left off with a space shuttle full of dead infected heading straight for earth lab on the planet Atabithi. With less than half an hour until impact, it’s pretty much crunch time for Nika, William, and Clayton. With such limited time for action, their options for saving themselves and the remaining 1400 people of the human race are on short order. Thus we have the problem at hand.

I don’t want to spoil what happens, but I will say that shit gets pretty hectic for our 3 main characters. The writing keeps me heavily invested in all the characters and makes me wish the series would continue. Even with that said, what I liked best about the conclusion of Trillium is that Lemire leaves it up to the reader’s imagination as to what happens. When a writer is able to keep you thinking about their story long after you’ve turned final page, then you know you’ve got something special on your hands.

If you’ve missed any of issues of Trillium or just haven’t gotten into it at all, I highly recommend you pick up the trade once it’s released.
