Upsher and Doff are back on the case.
WORD? We havent seen or heard from those two journalists in FOREVER. And given the time frame that some years have passed in the storyline here in Saga, that would be accurate. News of The Brand’s death has finally reached the outer rings of whatever universe the story of Saga resides in and that means several different things: especially to a pair of reporters who were once very hot on the tail of our favorite fugitve family eons ago.

Saga continues to push the envelope and  give us excellence: portraying characters that are very much genuine and not prone to stereotypical representations (in terms of sexuality mostly as we’re mostly dealing with non-human folks) And as I’m on the topic of characters–we are reminded of the “No truly good or bad characters”. To clarify: there’s no black or white area here. Just lot’s of grey.  You start off thinking a certain someone is evil or good and then you uncover their backstory, their motivations…which was great to elaborate on this theme again in this newer story arc with Upsher and Doff: two men on the hunt for a story about a family on the run that was almost buried.

I just really like them as characters. I’m so glad to see them back in bussiness.

Yes, yes. I figure some readers may be getting tired of playing “catch up” with what’s happened in the time gap but this is really entertaining to go along the trail of all the folks who came in some form of contact with our favorite little family. All the pieces are starting to come together for our favorite photographer/writer team as they follow the trail. I figured we’d meet someone old at the end of this issue BUT I WAS STILL SURPRISED. As the cliffhanger deprived me of the last of my HP I could only smile. It’s like getting the old gang back! I don’t need Lying Cat around to prove just how excited I am with the recent turn of events here.
